Sweet Swaps

We all know how great our location is -- obviously -- that's why we moved here, right? Well over the next few months, our city, our neighborhood and our location are going to be the most sought after properties on the planet. Why?

HOLIDAYS: People like to come to DC for the holidays. Check out this vacation swap deal I found on Craig's List:

Your dC apartment for our 3 bedroom house on the Oregon Coast
We will be in DC for 6 nights, from December 26 through New Year's Eve. We are looking for an apartment near the Metro. We will trade our 3 bedroom vacation home on the Oregon Coast for a week of your choosing.....anytime.

If you will be gone between Christmas and New Year's Eve, we want to hear from you! The house is large and comfortable, with two full baths. Only two blocks from a quiet, secluded beach, it has everything you and your family or friends need for a peaceful vacation on one of the cleanest, most well-preserved beaches in North America. We are a professional couple (teacher and librarian), non-smokers, who are neat and respectful of other people's property.

INAUGURATION: People really want to be here for inauguration. And another cool offer on CL:

Our Taos NM adobe casita for DC during Inauguration 2009
Greetings! We are an extremely particular couple looking for same who might want to consider a housing swap for the District area during Inauguration in January 2009. We'd like to swap beginning Saturday January 17th or Sunday the 18th and stay at least through the 22nd.

We are offering our beautiful adobe casita within an easy walk to the Taos Plaza, restaurants and galleries. Originally built in the 1930's and wonderfully remodeled in 2005, this special home is approximately 1,200 square feet, two story. Your home inclues 1 bedroom with full bath upstairs and 1/2 bath downstairs with a front sunroom/sleep room for sleeping, relaxing or painting, plus a wonderful den and kitchen with all stainless appliances. If you are an artist, writer, fly fisherman or just want to wake up smelling the fresh mountain air, this might be perfect for you.

Our inviting outdoor area gives you approximately 1,500 square feet of private patios, lawn, trees and a firepit patio we use all winter long. Light a fire in the firepit at night and enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. If you want privacy and serenity, this is the place...

So...we should all be taking advantage of this occasion. If you see other swap offers that don't work for you but might work for a fellow 1731 Twentyer, please share.
